JHA Employment, Training Program Celebrates new Graduates
The Johnstown Housing Authority’s Employment and tawtheaf.com Training Program celebrated 8 graduates of the program’s 2nd friend who went into a new stage of life Friday.
The ceremony at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in Richland Township marked a brand-new start for the graduates, who are set to seek more education or employment in the Johnstown area, said JHA Executive Director Mike Alberts.
For the previous 4 months, those enrolled in the program finished courses offered by a collaboration among Penn Highlands, Johnstown Area Regional Industries and PA CareerLink.
The program included courses supplied at Johnstown public real estate neighborhood spaces to get rid of participants’ transport barriers.
The curriculum included conflict management, job search and interview abilities, Microsoft Word and Excel, [empty] and life skills management, along with school trip for a robotics bootcamp and trips of technology-based production companies including Kitron and Compass Systems.
The event Friday celebrated the eight graduates of the program while acknowledging dozens more who registered, but decided out after finding work or other more education chances along the method.
